A group of business leaders is opposing President Trump's actions on immigration.
The coalition is led by State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli and New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer. Forty-one individuals, comprised of investors, financial advisors and public labor unions, contend that Trump's proposed actions will damage the economy by limiting the talent pool available for hiring. They urge that any new border protections comply with American laws and constitutional principles.
They point out that immigrants constitute 16 percent of the American workforce and that 41 percent of Fortune 500 companies were founded by immigrants.
