The renovation of the four-story building at 1021 Broadway is being financed with just over $2 million in loans and charitable donations from M&T Bank.

Jericho Road Founder and CEO Dr. Myron Glick says he and partners from other organizations that will move into the building have a dream that the space will someday be completely filled.

“One-hundred ten-thousand square feet of medical space - a wellness center, a dental clinic, not-for-profits coming together, radiology with Western New York MRI - that all of us together may employ over 500 people. You imagine what that will look like some day when this place is bustling and this building is full,” Glick said Monday.

Ken Houseknecht, Executive Director of the Mental Health Association of Erie County, says bringing Jericho Road’s medical services together with non-profit organizations will bring better service to those in need.

“Everyone who comes into this building, no matter what organization they come to meet with primarily, has got a cup full of need. Individually, all of us can only fill that cup to a certain point. But together, working together in a true collaborative spirit, we can do so much more to help people than we could separately,” said Houseknecht.

Jericho Road opened its first family clinic in 1997 on Buffalo’s West Side with the goal of providing medical care regardless of patients’ ability to pay. Glick says the organization believes in access to basic health care as a human right and hopes to help solve some of the community’s social justice issues.
