A Niagara Falls, New York native was among Sunday night's Academy Awards.

Mark Bridges, who grew up in Niagara Falls, won an Oscar for his Costume Design work on the silent film, "The Artist."

“I'm just a kid from Niagara Falls who dreamed, ate and slept movies" said Bridges as he accepted his Oscar on stage Sunday night.

Bridges is a 1978 graduate of LaSalle Senior High School in Niagara Falls.

Bridges also thanked movie producer Harvey Weinstein during his acceptance speech.  Weinstein attended college in Buffalo. He started "Harvey & Corky" productions back in the 1970's promoting concerts in the Buffalo region.

Backstage, on a thank Webcam, Bridges also thanked the Adam's family in Niagara Falls, NY.

"Ripple brought it home," said Bridges.
