A man has been convicted in a Rochester cold case that went unsolved for 13 years.
Mario Alverado Mateo was found guilty of rape and sodomy in an attack on a Rochester woman in 2000. DNA evidence matched the 36-year-old Mateo to the case in 2012. The conviction came on Friday. Mateo faces up to 25 years in prison when he is sentenced in February.
