The Buffalo Sabres have come to terms on a contract with forward Jeff Skinner. The team announced Friday night an 8-year deal worth a total of $72 million.
The 27-year-old Toronto native scored a career-high 40 goals last year in his first year with the team. He is a two-time All-Star selection and was a first round draft pick by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2010.
Skinner is poised to be a key building block for the Sabres as the team looks to return to postseason play.
