Source: City Comptroller Schroeder leaving office

Dec 31, 2018

A source has confirmed to WBFO that Buffalo City Comptroller Mark Schroeder will be leaving his office to assume a post with the state Department of Motor Vehicles.

While Schroeder has yet to comment on the departure, the move will relieve what has been the Comptroller's contentious relationship with Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown. Schroeder has frequently raised concerns over the city's financial path and also put together a Democratic Primary challenge to Brown in 2017.
