Theater Talk: Doom and gloom? Or Zoom and bloom?

Little by little, theater companies are getting better at zooming around the web, because, if it ain't online, it ain't. Period. The Antonyo Awards honoring black Broadway actors, etc. can still be seen. Visit for Mart Crowley's THE MEN FROM THE BOYS, tonight at 7 p.m., a sequel to THE BOYS IN THE BAND. Also tonight, at 8 p.m., "That's Shawbiz" features various Shawfest actors with very slick use of Zoom technology. Second Generation Theatre Founders Kelly Copps, Arin Lee Dandes, Kristen Bentley are looking forward to this Sunday night's "Page to Stage: Miscast" fundraiser, all online, starting at 7 p.m.

Buffalo actors, many of whom were wildly popular in Kavinoky musicals such as THE PRODUCERS and SPAMALOT and HAIRSPRAY and BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY. It's a list that includes Michele Marie Roberts, Marc Sacco, Dudney Joseph, and Greg Djurich, Lou Coliocovo, Dudney Joseph, Kelly Copps and Alex Watts plus Charmagne Chi and Amy Jakiel (Anthony's perennial co-hosts for the Artie Awards  which are still on hold) so if you want to see these folks in action, tune in this Sunday at 7 p.m.

Speaking of musicals, HAMILTON, as filmed by Disney in performance at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, will be released on Disney+ next Friday, July 3. The trailer is very enticing.
