Theater Talk: Snow keeps audiences at home making soup

Nov 21, 2014

Even though snowfall in the actual theater district has been relatively light, half of the potential audience for shows is snowbound and under a travel ban which has led to a number of cancelations all week long.  We hope that this weekend has more shows up than dark.

Still, before the storm, Anthony Chase was able to attend "Lombardi" at 710 Main Street and reports a powerful lead role in this play about the legendary football coach and his relationships with his players and his family.

Peter Hall went to "The Process" presented by the newly formed Unique Productions (UP!) at TheatreLoft on Elmwood, home of  Ujima Theatre.  Showcasing a number of playwrights and actors with disabilities, "The Process" runs through this Sunday.

Not part of the regular subscription series, and one night only, "4 Girls 4" brings four high wattage stars,  Maureen McGovern, Andrea McArdle, Donna McKechnie & Faith Prince to 710 Main, December 3.

We hope that the weather improves, but if you are stuck inside, and can't get to the theater, it might be time to get creative and make soup.  This week Anthony Chase looked in the freezer and the cupboard and made chorizo/braised brussel sprout/caramelized onion soup.
