Theater Talk: When young girls tell lies...

Oct 31, 2014

Arthur Miller's "The Crucible" opens Thursday and Lillian Hellman's "The Children's Hour" continues at The New Phoenix Theatre, two plays that delve into what chaos is caused when young girls tell adult lies. On a more upbeat note, "Ain't Misbehavin'" brings the music of Fats Waller to Musicalfare Theatre with a young, energetic cast.

Renee Taylor (Fran Drescher's mom on "The Nanny") is 81 years young and comes to Shea's Smith Theatre on Thursday with her one-woman reminiscence called "My Life on a Diet." Over at Kleinhans Music Hall Irish Classical Theatre and Lehrer Dance bring Moliere's "Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme" to life as JoAnn Falletta conducts the BPO in Richard Strauss's  incidental music, this Friday morning, Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon.
