Heavy rains are on their way to Western New York. The remnants of Tropical Storm Gordon are forecast to move through the region.
"The rain is in Pennsylvania this (Sunday) morning. It will move ever so slowly northward. The rain won't arrive in Buffalo until mid-evening. So, today will be dry in Buffalo," said National Weather Service Meteorologist Jon Hitchcock.
The rain will be heavy times overnight and into Monday morning, before tapering off to showers.
Hitchcock said the immediate Buffalo region will receive one to two inches of rain. But areas of Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties near the Pennsylvania border could see three inches.
A flood watch is posted for those counties from tonight through Tuesday morning.
There is also a wind advisory for Southern Erie and Chautauqua Counties from 1am to 11am Monday for wind gusts up to 50 miles per hour.
