Police in the town say the fire was reported around 4:20 a.m at 27 Furlong Road. The blaze is believed to have started on the first floor.

Officials say one victim was found in the front of the house and the other was found in a back room on the first floor. Authorities say the floor caved into the basement, making it difficult for firefighters to enter the home.

The victims have not yet been identified. The house was heavily damaged. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
