Candidates for New York governor will face off in mid-October in a Buffalo debate sponsored by WNED|WBFO and The Buffalo News.
The 60-minute debate will be held at WNED Studios on Lower Terrace in downtown Buffalo. Democratic incumbent Andrew Cuomo, Green Party Candidate Howie Hawkins and Libertarian Michael McDermott have accepted invitations to participate.
Republican candidate Rob Astorino has yet to accept the invitation. An Astorino campaign spokesperson has expressed concerns about the inclusion of the two third-party candidates.
The candidate will field questions from a panel of reporters. The exact date and time of the debate will be announced soon.
