After a spring of rain and a forecast of more this week, the annual Allentown Art Festival had two days of blue sky and sun and more than a few sunburns. Organizers estimated the crowd at 250,000 and police say there were no major issues for them.

With memories of a harsh winter in the rearview mirror and festival season in full swing, Western New Yorkers are enjoying the sights, sounds, tastes and activities that these events offer.

The Allentown Art Festival is famous for steamy hot days as people walk and shop and eat along its route on Delaware Avenue and some side streets. It was steamy at times on Sunday, but it was mostly wet.

It is a very busy weekend for festivals and events in Buffalo.

Large crowds turned out for two big weekend festivals: Juneteenth and Allentown.

The 57th Allentown Art Festival attracted big crowds Saturday under a mix of sun and clouds with unseasonably cool temperatures in the low 60s. 

The annual Allentown Art Show had a chilly and wet Saturday but finished with a flourish Sunday with warm air and blue skies.

Thousands turned out for a soggy opening to the Allentown Arts Festival on Saturday.

It is the 55th year for the annual gathering of artists from across the US and Canada. This year's festival boasts more than four hundred artists and craftsmen. Award winners this year include Liz Kain for Best of Show, Ronna Mink for sculpture and Joshua Axelrod in photography.

The festival continues today from from 11 this morning until 6 this evening.

It should be warm and sunny day for enjoying the sights and sounds of Allentown.
