The amount of affordable housing in Buffalo is continuing to creep upward. On Thursday, the city's Common Council revised its approval of a Planned Unit Development designation for the Elmwood Crossing project. The big change mandates that 20 percent of the several hundred rental apartments must be affordable.

The shape of the future for a major section of the Town of Amherst will start becoming clear today, as Supervisor Brian Kulpa talks with developer Nick Sinatra. Yesterday, a group led by Sinatra agreed to pay just over $24 million for the Boulevard Mall in an extended auction.


A local developer has won the bidding war for the faltering Boulevard Mall.

The former Women and Children's Hospital is in new hands. Kaleida Health sold the property just a few days after successfully moving into the new Oishei Children's Hospital on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. A pair of local developers are partnering to breathe new life into the old hospital site in the Elmwood Village.
