Officials call it a milestone in a project that will continue through the spring of 2022.

The Transportation Security Administration's updated rules for passenger carry-on screenings are finally taking effect in Buffalo. On Thursday, TSA officials offered a demonstration of the new rules and what must now be unpacked from carry-on bags during the screening process.

West airport entrance closed nightly for paving

The Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority is beginning a construction project to replace the pavement at the west entrance and exit lanes to the Buffalo Niagara International. As a result, the airport entrance/exit opposite the Kensington Expressway will be closed nightly Monday-Friday and again October 24-25 from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m.

No injuries were reported as an Alaskan Airlines flight made an emergency landing at Buffalo Niagara International Airport this morning.
