According to multiple reports, all 57 members of the Buffalo Police Department's Emergency Response Team have resigned from the team as a show of support for the two officers who were suspended Thursday night.

Eight of them are part of a scholarship program titled Buffalo Police Department 21st Century. Launched in 2016, BPD21C is designed to help create a police force that looks like the people they protect.

As a pair of civil rights organizations prepare to sue the city of Buffalo for information on police checkpoints, Mayor Byron Brown says he "feels very comfortable" with police actions.

A group of local organizations and individuals led by the local chapter of Black Lives Matter is suing the Buffalo Police Department in federal court, charging racial discrimination. The lawsuit is based upon two years of research by law students from the University at Buffalo and Cornell University showing statistical disparities in racial treatment.


Buffalo police are investigating a hit-and-run that occurred around 12:30 p.m. Saturday in a parking lot on the 2500 block of Main Street.

Buffalo Police say a 10-year-old boy was struck by a Buffalo Police car at Niagara Street and Porter Avenue Tuesday morning.

The two Buffalo police officers hospitalized with injuries in a rollover accident have been released from ECMC.
