A Connecticut-based real estate developer and his Buffalo-based partner are announcing they have secured conditional rights to a United Soccer League franchise for Buffalo. But it comes on the condition they can get a soccer-specific stadium built.

An amateur men's soccer club based in Buffalo has been invited to play exhibition matches next spring in Germany, including one in Buffalo's sister city Dortmund. The tour, scheduled for next May, will bring the team to Dortmund just in time for a festival celebrating that region's diversity. They'll also face the reserve team of a German club well-known for its socially-inclusive policies.

After winning their 2015 National Premier Soccer League season opener Saturday night in a first-ever home game outside the City of Buffalo, elite amateur men's soccer club FC Buffalo looks forward to returning to its original North Buffalo home for the first time in two years. To the team, it's deeper than just playing soccer. It's part of their mission to be "For Our City."
