First components of Labatt House to open this November

A full-service bar, restaurant, beer garden and brewery are expected to open this November, representing the first tenants of a development in progress in Buffalo's Cobblestone District. Officials with Pegula Sports and Entertainment joined representatives of Labatt USA to provide a progress report on what will be known as Labatt House.

Labatt USA is celebrating its tenth anniversary of being headquartered in Buffalo. In honor of the milestone, Mayor Byron Brown declared July 12, 2017 Labatt Blue Day and declared this weekend Labatt Blue Weekend.

A building in Buffalo's Cobblestone District, purchased earlier this year by Pegula Sports and Entertainment, will soon be home to a new restaurant and pilot brewery, as well as other mixed uses. Officials from PSE and Labatt USA announced plans for redevelopment inside the building at 79 Perry.


Downtown Metro Rail expansion being considered

Area residents may, in future years, see an expanded Metro Rail system around the Cobblestone District and Canalside areas. Planners are discussing a three to five year project to expand public transit.
