Some Buffalo Public school parents say they believe the Buffalo Teachers Federation (BTF) is attempting to 'sabotage progress' in the city school district. WBFO's senior reporter Eileen Buckley says members of the District Parent Coordinating Council (DPCC) have two major concerns.

Among the petitions decided Friday by the New York State Education Commissioner was a request from the District Parent Coordinating Council to remove Buffalo Schools Superintendent Kriner Cash and all School Board members. The Commissioner denied the request on "procedural grounds," but the DPCC is not expected to re-submit its petition.

Buffalo parents in the District Parent Coordinating Council have filed a petition with the State Department of Education demanding the removal of School Board Member Carl Paladino for what they call "his history of racist, incendiary and destructive behavior," including his most recent published statements about the Obamas.

University District Common Council member Rasheed Wyatt told a Buffalo Common Council committee he still wants a daytime curfew for young people in the city when they should be in school. During a public hearing Monday Wyatt said details still need to be worked out.
