Sports betting will officially open at del Lago Resort & Casino on Friday afternoon. The casino is partnering with the online sports betting company DraftKings.

It turns out that New York is the big winner when it comes to daily fantasy sports.

The New York Attorney General's Office has reached separate $6 million settlements with fantasy sports companies DraftKings and FanDuel, resolving lawsuits that alleged false and deceptive advertising.

DraftKings, FanDuel and other daily fantasy sports companies have been cleared to resume business in New York state.

Governor Andrew Cuomo has not dropped any hints as to whether he'll sign or veto a bill legalizing daily fantasy sports gaming in New York. He has until the end of next week to make a decision, but local legislators who voted in favor of letting DraftKings and FanDuel do business in this state aren't worried.


Local fans of online daily fantasy sports websites are on the sidelines, following a State Supreme Court judge's ruling to block such sites from doing business within New York State.

New York's Attorney General is being criticized by Rep. Chris Collins after Eric Schneiderman ordered DraftKings and FanDuel to stop taking bets in New York.
