Teenagers with mental health troubles are at a greater risk of getting addicted when prescribed opioids. As part of our Mental Health Reporting Initiative WBFO's senior reporter Eileen Buckley talked to an expert about these findings. 

While opioid addiction remains a crisis in Erie County and all across America, a new report shows a positive trend in the ongoing fight. The Medicaid Inspector General indicates that an addictive opioid that often leads to heroin and fentanyl use is no longer the top painkiller prescribed by doctors in the county.

The ribbon was cut Wednesday on a new 25-bed drug addiction recovery and treatment center in Niagara County that will serve not only to help patients beat drug addiction but also provide education and other programs to help those people return to the public as productive individuals.

The North Park Theater was packed Thursday night for a town hall meeting on the heroin and prescription opioid epidemic.
