A special election has yet to be called for Western New York's 27th Congressional District, but a heavy supply of political money is finding its way into the coffers of the declared candidates. While the district only recently lost its representation with the resignation of Chris Collins, Buffalo News Political Reporter Bob McCarthy says campaign treasuries are on the rise for the declared candidates.

A televised debate Wednesday evening started with a fight over the difference between the tax rate and the tax levy, and eventually turned into an argument about PhotoShopped photos used in campaign ads. Libertarians finally gained automatic ballot access in New York state last year, but you won’t see any Libertarians on the ballot for Erie County races this November.

Erie County voters who plan to cast their ballots during the early polling period, October 26 through November 3, will have the opportunity to do so at any of the participating stations. They'll be the first to use a new electronic system that the county plans to roll out for all elections next year.
