The AAA’s annual back-to-school campaign reminding motorists to drive carefully around schools and school buses kicked off Tuesday in Buffalo.

The first lawsuit has been filed against New York's new law to permit undocumented immigrants to apply for driver's licenses as Gov. Andrew Cuomo continued to cast doubt on the effectiveness of the new law.


New York's county clerks are meeting in Syracuse on Monday to discuss a new law that requires county departments of motor vehicles to issue driver's licenses to undocumented immigrants. Meanwhile, some county clerks who are opposed to the law are pressing forward on a federal lawsuit.

As of October 2020, New York State residents will not be able to fly domestically without proper documentation, nor will they be able to enter certain federal facilities.

There may be a warning flag contradicting the perception of a strong local economy. Erie County Clerk Mickey Kearns says there's been a 30-percent increase in the first three-months of the year in filings of the first stages of foreclosure.

Veterans and their advocates were celebrating the completion of updated, handicap-accessible restrooms at an American Legion post in Sloan Friday morning. But they looked back on a recent tragic fall at another local post. A project launched on Flag Day to raise funds for various capital projects has resulted in the sale of more than 5,000 cards. While it's only a fraction of the revenue needed to address the needs of participating halls, the Erie County Clerk calls the project a "confidence builder" three weeks after its start.
