Erie County legislators will be asked Thursday to make some budget transfers to cover costs from the Hepatitis A rush vaccinations in February. Covering the costs of staff and vaccines meant a county Health Department account is $74,000 over budget, with half a year to go.

With talk of the New York State Legislature possibly ending its session early amidst gridlock, Erie County lawmakers are debating whether to hurry and vote on a proposal to amend the county's tax code.


Change at the Erie County Water Authority is continuing, as Republicans now have to fill their remaining seat on the three-member board. County Legislature Minority Leader Joseph Lorigo says he wants that seat filled quickly.

The Erie County Water Authority got a surprise Thursday. Republican Commissioner Karl Simmeth submitted his resignation letter just past a year into his three-year term.
