New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is the latest high-profile male to face accusations of sexual misconduct during the #MeToo era. An article published in The New Yorker Monday night cited four women alleging a pattern of physical and verbal abuse.

They also explained what they'd like to see accomplished next, including increased services for victims and broader guidelines and definitions for those who prosecute such cases.

An important tool in fighting domestic violence will remain in place at the Family Justice Center in downtown Buffalo. New York State Senator Patrick Gallivan announced he secured $100,000 to the Center to continue to fund its Forensic Medical Unit. The Associated Press has named the NFL's domestic violence issues as its top sports story of 2014. One local advocate for the victims of domestic violence believes the publicity is helping to place the spotlight on a troubling, often-hidden reality.
