Earlier this year, Say Yes Buffalo announced their plan to raise $100 million by 2023 to ensure eligible students in the Buffalo Public Schools would have a chance to pursue postsecondary scholarships. They’re $2 million closer to meeting that mark after receiving a donation from the First Niagara Foundation/Keybank Tuesday.

The drive to build ECMC's new Trauma Center/Emergency Department has taken another step forward. Key Bank Foundation is partnering with the First Niagara Foundation to donate $600,000 to the Trauma Center's capital campaign.


Anytime there is a bank merger, there is worry about jobs and loss. However, KeyBank says it is keeping both its own charitable foundation and the First Niagara Foundation as separate entities.

Local students will benefit from the generosity of a First Niagara Foundation grant that will provide them with a bird’s eye view of arts education at The Burchfield Penney Art Center at SUNY Buffalo State. The grant has a huge payoff for local education—this school year it will sponsor guided tours free of charge to K-12 groups from across the region.
