Tonight on WNED-TV, Frontline will air the final segment of its  two-part documentary: "America's Great Divide: From Obama to Trump." The series focuses on the nation's increasingly bitter, divided and toxic politics. It's a familiar theme for UB's Distinguished Professor of Political Science, Doctor James Campbell. In 2016, he addressed the topic at the beginning of the Trump Presidency with his book, "Polarized: Making Sense of a Divided America." 


UB professor says polarization is here to stay

Americans have become increasingly politically polarized in recent decades, after years of two major political parties that were both traditionally moderate. A political scientist at the University at Buffalo suggests polarization is here to stay and the real challenge is achieving a mutual respect.

Rick Santorum's announcement today that he is suspending his Republican presidential campaign leaves only frontrunner Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul in the GOP sweepstakes.  Gingrich
and Paul are no longer considered factors in the race for the nomination.
