A major leadership change has been announced at one of the area's largest health providers as Kaleida Health CEO James Kaskie has resigned. WBFO's Eileen Buckley attended a news briefing Friday morning at Kaleida's Gates Vascular Institute in downtown Buffalo.

Kaleida Health is urging employees to report to their shifts Tuesday evening. That includes doctors, nurses, dietitians, and other employees. Employees living in areas that are under travel bans should carry their Kaleida identification.

Plans unveiled Monday show much of the former Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital being replaced with a new mixed-use, senior housing development.

Kaleida Health's board of directors has selected a proposed veterinary school to be developed at the former Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital.

Kaleida made the announcement Tuesday afternoon.  The $65 million plan proposed by local developer Chason Affinity was chosen over a proposal for a mixed use complex from Uniland Development that including a hotel and residential, office, and retail space.
