With no Republican challenge in November, today's Democratic Primary will determine the winners of several seats on Buffalo's Common Council. Jeremy Zellner, Chair of the Erie County Democratic Party and Democratic Commissioner for the Erie County Board of Elections, expects a traditionally low voter turnout today. While there are some spirited battles taking place in the suburbs, there are no primary races in some districts.

Tuesday is Primary Election Day, when New York's new electoral process approved in Albany kicks in.

Jeremy Zellner will remain the Chair of the Erie County Democratic Committee.

He was unanimously re-elected on Saturday at the biennial reorganization meeting. He was first elected back in 2012.  Zellner says the unanimous vote is a symbol of the unity and strength among democrats in Erie County.
