Vaping industry fired up as NY's flavor ban nears

The vaping industry is putting pressure on New York State to quit its effort to ban the sale of flavored products. A ban approved by the Health Department's Public Health Council in September is set to take effect Friday, while a ban on menthol vaping products is being considered.


As Marc Molinaro brings his campaign for governor to Western New York for the first time Wednesday, he's being greeted with criticism from a local leader. Former Erie County Executive Joel Giambra, a Reform Party gubernatorial candidate, labeled Molinaro as  "the right-wing Conservative-Republican candidate who's supported by the NRA."

A  judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by former Erie County Executive Joel Giambra for planned expansion of the Erie Community College's north campus. WBFO'S Focus on Education reporter Eileen Buckley says State Supreme Court Justice Deborah Chimes ruled that Giambra and two co-petitioners did not have proper legal standing to mount the court challenge.
