Flyers for a Ku Klux Klan event in Indiana on August 31 were found in Tonawanda and North Tonawanda Monday morning.  Police in both areas said five residents found the flyers in zipped plastic bags, weighed down by rice.

Nearly a century ago, there was a shootout on an East Side Street leaving a Buffalo special officer and a Ku Klux Klan member dead and two other Klansmen wounded. Today, there is an effort to name Buffalo's new Public Safety Building for slain Officer Edward Obertean.

Daemen student suspended for wearing KKK-style outfit

There has been another racist incident on a local college campus. Two Daemen College students were placed on suspension after a male student wore a costume that resembled a KKK outfit inside Canavan Hall Monday night. A second student, who helped dress him, was also suspended.
