"Making Buffalo Home: A Refugee's First Year" airs tonight at 9 on WNED-TV. Part of the Making Buffalo Home initiative, the show looks at the challenges refugees face upon relocating to Buffalo. As Senior Producer Lynne Bader points out, nearly 16,000 refugees have called Buffalo home since the early 2000's. In order to make lives here, they needed to overcome two major challenges: finding a job and learning the language.

Tuesday at 1 p.m. WNED/WBFO is hosting another Facebook Live event as part of the "Making Buffalo Home" initiative. It's the second in an ongoing community conversation on the impact of immigration in Western New York. For a preview WBFO's Jay Moran chats with WNED Senior Producer Lynne Bader.

Abusive relationships involving youth are shockingly common: one in three teenagers will experience some form of abuse. It's also stunning how often the issue can be overlooked. Only one-third of the teens involved in abusive relationships seek any kind of help. WNED-TV and the Family Justice Center have partnered on Reach Out: Recognize Relationship Abuse to raise awareness of the issue.
