Improvements are on the way for a popular Olmsted Park, in the city of Buffalo. The project is part of the state's recently announced $50 million investment throughout the East Side. With more here's WBFO's Chris Caya.

Tucked away behind the Buffalo Museum of Science on Buffalo’s East Side is a quaint cottage garden in need of attention. State Senator Tim Kennedy, whose district contains about half of Buffalo's Olmsted parks, has secured $110,000 in state funding for the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy to repair the garden landscape.

More than 90 years after its construction, a historic building in the heart of Buffalo’s East Side is getting new life and restored purpose. The 1926 casino building in Martin Luther King Jr. Park is nearly through the third and final phase of a $2.6 million renovation.


The Buffalo man convicted of killing one person and wounded four others in Martin Luther King Jr. Park in May 2012 has been sentenced to 22 years in prison.
