Older adults are most vulnerable to become seriously ill from COVID-19, so even as Western New York and other areas of the country begin to reopen, public health officials warn those over 65 should continue to limit their exposure. Meals on Wheels provides older adults with nutritious meals and some socialization all year around, but those services are especially crucial during the holiday season and winter months when seniors living alone may feel particularly isolated and lonely. Here WBFO gives a behind-the-scenes look at Meals on Wheels deliveries during the holidays.

Officials at Meals on Wheels For Western New York have rolled out another capital improvement they say will further ensure they are never again left unable to produce during a weather-related emergency.

A key fundraiser will be held for Meals on Wheels for Western New York Wednesday, September 25: the 10th annual "Plate Expectations 2013".  As WBFO's Eileen Buckley learned, the organization not only delivers meals to the region's elderly, but also to many disabled clients, some living in the City of Buffalo who rely on their daily meals.
