Students from Holland High School, Nardin Academy and Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart journey to Washington Friday to take part in this year's National Rocketry Challenge, sponsored by the Aerospace Industries Association.

And not only are area schools sending a record number of competitors this year, but this year all  the participants from the Buffalo-area are young women.

An arrest has been made in connection with the death of a 2001 Nardin Academy graduate and a companion last month in Maryland.

A private, all-girls Catholic high school in Buffalo will be dropping State Regents testing. WBFO's Senior Reporter Eileen Buckley says Nardin Academy is ready to phase out Regents exams over the next couple of years.

Nardin Academy in Buffalo has a new leader who formerly served.  Marsha Joy Sullivan has returned as president. WBFO's senior reporter Eileen Buckley says Sullivan agreed to extend her  role from interim to permanent.

Nardin Academy in Buffalo announced the abrupt departure of its 24th president, John Thomas West III.

Buffalo's Business First recently released a list of 100-area high school seniors for its 2015-All-Western New York Academic Team.  124-schools nominated more than 400-of their smartest and most accomplished students. 

A north Buffalo native was one of three people killed on board a hot-air balloon fire and crash in Virginia Friday. 24-year-old Natalie Lewis, working as Director of Basketball Operations for the University of Richmond women’s basketball program, was a 2007 graduate of Nardin Academy and the University of Richmond.

Nardin takes top high school ranking again

For the 11th year in a row, Nardin Academy tops the Business First list of best high schools in Western New York.

Nardin students lead the way in earning Regents diplomas, with more than 96 percent of last year's graduates receiving the advanced designation.

Buffalo's City Honors moved into the number two spot in the rankings, followed byBuffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart, Williamsville East and East Aurora.
