NFL owners have unanimously approved the sale of the Buffalo Bills to Terry and Kim Pegula.

With a final score of 17-14, the Buffalo Bills tamed the Detroit Lions Sunday afternoon.

The NFL blackout rule has been lifted, but don't get too excited yet. The Federal Communications Commission voted today to lift the more than 40-year-old ban on broadcasting games locally that do not sell out, but the league still has to change its' policy.

Dareus misses the start of training camp

Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus is missing the start of training camp after failing his conditioning test.

The Buffalo Bills travel to Chicago on September 7th to play the Bears to open the 2014 season, a season in which the Bills will play all home games in Orchard Park for the first time since 2007.

The Buffalo Bills have guaranteed a sellout for Sunday's game, ensuring that it will be seen on local television.

Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone has added another name to his list of coaches.

Pat Morris has been named as the team's offensive line coach. Morris has worked in the NFL for 15 years and has been a part of teams in Minnesota, Detroit and San Francisco. His most recent work as an offensive line coach came in 2011 with Tampa Bay. Many teams have led the NFL in rushing under his tutelage.

The Buffalo Bills are facing the prospect of four local blackouts this season.

Following last week's lackluster performance in the season opener, tickets sales for games against Miami, Jacksonville, St. Louis and the New York Jets have been slow. Three of those games are in December, and the Miami game is a Thursday night affair, conditions that lend to lower ticket sales.

Earlier this year, the Bills opted out of a new NFL policy that would have lifted blackouts with fewer tickets sold.

NFL Charities is awarding more than $1.5 million in grants to 15 institutions nationwide, including the University at Buffalo, for sports-related research.

Nearly two-thirds of the money is earmarked for concussion prevention and treatment. UB is using its $100,000 grant to further develop a standardized exercise test for athletes who have experienced concussions. Dr. John Leddy of UB's Concussion Management Clinic compares their test to a stress test for the heart, only this one is for the brain.
