The last time lacrosse was played as an official Olympic sport was 1908. That could change, given a three-year provisional acceptance into the International Olympic Committee for the Federation of International Lacrosse. It gives the sport’s governing body added resources and the option to apply for full-sport status in the future. But as lacrosse continues on track to achieve its Olympic dreams, what about those of the Native American athletes of the Iroquois Nationals lacrosse team?

Derby native selected for Olympic Games

A local Derby woman is in participating in the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.  WBFO's senior reporter Eileen Buckley says 20-year-old Tricia Mangan was late add the U.S. Alpine Ski team on Tuesday.

Elma native Jake Kaminski goes for the gold again at the 2016 summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, beginning with a ranking round in his team sport of archery Friday morning. Kaminski, who currently lives in Florida, is one of three U.S. archers on the men's Team USA.

Elma native Jake Kaminski will be one of four U.S. archers headed to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Kaminski secured his second trip to the Olympics after the final stage of the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Archery concluded Monday in Newberry, FL.
