Police say an Orchard Park roller rink was filled beyond capacity while hosting a weekend dance party that ended when gunfire wounded a New York City woman.

One woman was wounded in an early morning shooting Sunday at a party in Orchard Park. Town police officers responded to the Frank Young Sports Arena on North Buffalo Road around 1:30am.

Orchard Park Police are warning area residents to lock their homes and vehicles, in the wake of some 50 burglaries and larcenies over the last two weeks.

What began as just a traffic stop in Orchard Park turned into a number of charges and infractions for a Buffalo man.

The investigation continues into what police are calling a murder-suicide in Orchard Park.

Authorities are looking for information regarding a pair of robberies that took place on Friday in Buffalo and Orchard  Park.

Orchard Park police responded to a fatal shooting late Saturday night in the camper lot at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

According to reports, a male sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He died at the scene. His name was not released.

The camper lot was filled to capacity at the time of the shooting. The Buffalo Bills host the Indianapolis Colts at the stadium in the season opener.

"This is an isolated incident," Orchard Park Police Chief Mark Pacholec said at a news conference.

Pacholec said the incident would have no impact on Sunday's game.

Orchard Park Police fight budget cuts

Usually, police are on the streets fighting crime. But Wednesday in Orchard Park, town police officers and about 100 of their supporters were fighting Town Hall.  

The group staged a picket outside Wednesday's Board meeting where lawmakers debated a proposed 300-thousand-dollar cut to the police budget. Lieutenant Mark Pacholec said the loss of money would cut a department that is already understaffed.
