Let’s say you’re making a movie and you want to film on the Grand Island Bridge. The only thing standing between you and your great scene is a little car traffic. So how do you do it?  If you are Paramount Pictures, you’re fortunate that the New York State Film Office is there to help. Buffalo Niagara Film Commissioner Tim Clark sheds light on the subject on this week's Press Pass.

"A Quiet Place," a thriller directed by John Krasinski, was a surprise hit last year and production on the sequel is underway here in Western New York. WBFO's Howard Riedel spoke with Executive Producer JoAnn Perritano, who said that while much of the first film was shot farther downstate, a lot of the sequel will be filmed in Western New York. "A Quiet Place 2" is tentatively scheduled for a March 2020 release.

This year, spring time is bringing with it some high profile actors and films to the Buffalo area.  At the top of that list is the decision by filmmaker John Krasinski to use the village of Akron as a site for the filming of "A Quiet Place 2." Meanwhile, several Western New York natives are taking advantage of the fertile film climate to produce new works for the large and small screen.
