Five vendors chosen for second small business 'Pop-Up'

Beginning Friday and continuing for the next two months, a handful of local retailers will set up shop inside a storefront inside Buffalo's Pierce Building on Main Street. They're the participants in the second Queen City Pop-Up.

The last Target stores in Canada closed over the weekend, after the retail sought bankruptcy protection north of the border in January. As WBFO's Canada correspondent Dan Karpenchuk reports, a mock funeral was held at one store in Toronto which shut its doors for good this past weekend.

The Buffalo Niagara International Airport unveiled $3.8 million in upgrades completed by Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services. The three new additions include convenience stores, a high-end retail store and a new restaurant.

Sunny skies and mild temperatures greeted Black Friday shoppers across Western New York.   Shopping malls were filled on what is traditionally the busiest shopping day of the year.  

The Buffalo News reports 1,600 people were waiting outside the Toys 'R Us store in Amherst Thursday night, waiting for the 9pm opening of the store.   It was also busy at Toys 'R Us in Hamburg, where store manager Lisa Santangelo said the early start to shopping drew quite a crowd.
