Wikipedia is used as a resource by millions, but compared to the total amount of its users the site has a small number of mostly male contributors. A 2010 study by the Wikimedia Foundation found that at the time only 13% of its contributors were women. RIT Libraries Women on Wikipedia-edit-a-thon events are geared to change that imbalance.
Deaf individuals are up to seven times as likely as their hearing peers to have heart disease, high blood pressure, and strokes. That's according to research from the RIT's National Technical Institute for the Deaf and the University of Michigan.
A team of students at RIT has come up with a new way to send out mass notifications on campus in the event of an emergency. Their digital clock can receive digital alerts to display on the screen when emergency coordinators have to reach students, staff and campus visitors in a hurry.
