For an audience at Daemen College Thursday evening, it was a story of genocide, blood, 800,000 dead and a country trying to rebuild itself.

An impressive gathering of local and world-renowned speakers have made their way to the University at Buffalo's North Campus today for an international symposium, "The Rwandan Genocide: Twenty Years Later." The event was organized by the Alison Des Forges Memorial Committee.

Members of Buffalo State's Anne Frank Project recently traveled to Rwanda. A small group of students and their teacher visited refugee camps, schools and orphanages to meet with youth from the African country.
