Congress is nearing a $450 billion deal to replenish a program to help small businesses devastated by the pandemic. New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand says among the key pieces included in this interim deal is money for rural hospitals, which have had to furlough hundreds of workers to offset financial losses.

The U.S. Small Business Administration's disaster assistance office in Buffalo is temporarily expanding its workforce to assist individuals and business owners affected by Tropical Storm Harvey.

ALBANY, N.Y. — The federal Small Business Administration is offering disaster loans to New York businesses hurt by the months-long drought.

With the possibility of more flooding on the way West Seneca Supervisor Sheila Meegan says the town is on "high alert." It was just a little over a month ago that dozens of homes were severely damaged in the Lexington Green neighborhood.

The U.S. Small Business Administration announced plans this week to make it easier for start-ups to get funding. Among the changes the SBA would like to implement this year are less paperwork and changes to rules about affiliations with other businesses.
