It was the Buffalo Bisons' day to celebrate, as the minor league baseball team opened its 2015 International League season by hosting Rochester Thursday afternoon at Coca-Cola Field. Helping them celebrate was Buffalo's new football coach.

Thursday night's overtime loss to the Arizona Coyotes leaves the Sabres six points behind the Coyotes with just a couple of weeks left in the season. The team that finds themselves at the very bottom of the standings when the season is over is guaranteed no worse than the second overall draft choice, meaning the Sabres could land super-prospects Connor McDavid or Jack Eichel. McDavid is currently the captain of the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League. Eichel is presently a center at Boston University. Both are viewed as franchise players.
