Bills staff help clean up South Buffalo park

The Buffalo Bills staff took part in a day of service at Cazenovia Park Friday. This is the second year the Bills crew volunteered their time in the community.

USA Hockey bringing two world championships to Buffalo

USA Hockey announced Wednesday that Buffalo will host two world championships at the soon-to-be-completed HARBORCENTER in 2015. The 8th annual International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Women’s World Championship will be held next January and the International Paralympic Committee Ice Sledge Hockey Worlds will begin in April.

The fan-generated effort to create a "Bon Jovi Free Zone" in Buffalo received some widespread publicity in the US and Canada Thursday night.  As WBFO's Mark Scott reports, the CBC's As It Happens found out why some people here are angry with the rock singer.

Sabres raise season ticket prices 4%

The Buffalo Sabres are raising season ticket prices by four percent. The team announced Wednesday that prices will go up $1 to $4 per game for the 2014-2015 campaign, depends on the seat location.

The Buffalo Bills will play their last home game of the season Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.  But if you don't have a ticket, you won't be able to see it.  The game will be blacked out on local television after failing to sell out. 

The University at Buffalo community is gearing up for this Saturday's appearance of the UB Bulls in a college football bowl game.  UB is using the "Famous Idaho Potato Bowl" to introduce the university to a national audience.

The Buffalo Bills didn't play this weekend, but were still making headlines when a report surfaced Sunday by CBSSports. Reporter Jason La Canfora wrote rock star Jon Bon Jovi is, according to sources with knowledge of the situation, positioning himself to purchase the NFL team.

The First Niagara Center was electric Friday night.  It was the first Buffalo Sabres game with interim coach Ted Nolan behind the bench.  Plus, there was a large contingent of Toronto Maple Leafs fans in the building.  It was a successful start under the new coach as the Sabres beat the Maple Leafs 3 to 1.
