In the middle of the after-school rush yesterday of the traffic along Bailey Avenue, someone shot three people in front of a liquor store at Bailey and Berkshire. Police say it was a targeted shooting.

The Stop the Violence Coalition appeared in the Black Rock-Riverside neighborhood on Tuesday. Hours earlier at a location just a few blocks away, a major brawl broke out involving dozens of people and baseball bats.

Some of the city of Buffalo's most violent residents are going to have notification sessions in their futures, courtesy of nearly $2 million in state cash coming here for crime-fighting. It is part of a renewal of a program called the Gun Involved Violence Elimination grant from the State Division of Criminal Justice Services.
