A new "grow your own" style program will help build a diverse workforce of Buffalo Public School teachers. SUNY Buffalo State and the Buffalo Public School District announced the launch the Urban Teacher Academy to be located at McKinley High School Monday at a news conference.

Greenleaf Development has a less-than-stellar reputation as a landlord. But that didn’t stop SUNY Buffalo State from entering into an exclusive agreement that helped the company build off-campus housing to accommodate students. The deal prohibits seniors from living in the college's dorms in an effort to fill Greenleaf’s development. One good government advocate says the deal raises red flags.

Buffalo State freshmen arrive for 'move-in day’

SUNY Buffalo State welcomed another large class of freshman for 'move-in-day' on Tuesday.  It is the third largest class in 25 years with 1,700 freshman are enrolled. The campus was buzzing as everyone moved into the dorms, but not all of the students were from out-of-town.

A SUNY Buffalo State student was robbed at knife point Tuesday evening on campus. University Police said a female student walking between two complexes before 9-o'clock was approached by two suspects who had a knife.

It's a new era at SUNY Buffalo State as a new president has taken the helm. Dr. Katherine Conway-Turner previously served as provost and vice president of Academic Affairs at Hood College in Maryland. She also served as provost at  SUNY Geneso.

Buffalo State College President Aaron Podolefsky is stepping down. Podolefsky has been on sick leave since May as he undergoes treatment for prostate cancer. On Monday, he announced that he will step down as president July 31.
