Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

If one Western New York-based State Senator has his way, New York will end its Film Tax Credit program. Another local State Senator, though, says while the state's tax structure is flawed, this is a credit that works. Both offered their points of view as an April 1 budget deadline approaches.

The film production business in Western New York has been steadily growing and on this week's edition of Press Pass, Buffalo Niagara Film Commissioner Tim Clark tells WBFO's Pat Feldballe about a couple of recent visits he had with some Hollywood heavy hitters.

Film crews are becoming commonplace in Western New York. During a recent day, as many as four crews were working on a variety of film projects in the area. With that success noted, the challenge now for local officials is to keep filmmakers coming back to the region.

Shooting gets underway in Buffalo Monday night for the film "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2." 


Call it a test night for the turtles. Crews who are in town to shoot a high-speed chase sequence for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" plan to do prep work along the Kensington Expressway on Friday. 


Today on Press Pass, WBFO’s Pat Feldballe speaks with Buffalo Niagara Film Commissioner Tim Clark about a film written by a Western New Yorker that's been included in this year’s Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Tim also teases some news about the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, parts of which will be shot in Buffalo.

When do talking turtles produce big bucks? The answer: when scenes from the sequel to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are shot in Buffalo. That's exactly what will happen later this spring.
