Representatives of numerous law enforcement agencies gathered in Buffalo Thursday to report that a dozen indictments had been unsealed, and 11 people arrested, in a case involving what they described as a violent criminal enterprise that included drugs, guns and murder.

Buffalo Common Council President Darius Pridgen says he hopes the next owner of the Towne Gardens housing complex and shopping plaza, located on Clinton Street and bordered by William Street and Jefferson Avenue, will be a better landlord than the individual being forced out in a foreclosure.

An attorney representing the out-of-town owners of the federally-subsidized Towne Gardens apartment complex in Buffalo suggested five housing complaints against the owners have been or are being addressed. More than 90 additional violations, however, are pending.
