The Buffalo Bills have traded starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for the first pick in the third round in the upcoming NFL draft.

Casey Hayward made two of the Chargers' five interceptions during a horrific first half by Buffalo rookie quarterback Nathan Peterman, and Los Angeles cruised to a 54-24 victory over the slumping Bills on Sunday.

Buffalo Bills officials say rookie quarterback Nathan Peterman gives them their best chance to beat the Chargers on Sunday and revive their fading playoff hopes. Analyst Matt Sabuda, however, sees a longer view. The decision to bench starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor is more about sifting through personnel to find the building blocks for a team that could eventually contend for a championship. The success of that chosen path remains to be seen.

Rookie cornerback Tre'Davious White forced and recovered a fumble to set up Stephen Hauschka's 30-yard field goal with 14 seconds remaining and the Buffalo Bills beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-27 Sunday.

The bye week provides Bills fans with a moment to enjoy the team's surprising 3-2 start. Analyst Matt Sabuda is taking a cautiously optimistic approach. In his five-week review of the season, Sabuda says he has been impressed by the Bills stingy defense, but a lack of an effective passing game makes it clear "the remainder of the season should  be heavily focused on evaluation for the future."

Four weeks of good feelings for Bills fans faded in the rain of Cincinnati in a 20-16 loss to the Bengals on Sunday. The defense, analyst Matt Sabuda says, played well enough to win, but the offense failed to capitalize on exceptional field position throughout the afternoon. With only 166 passing yards on Sunday, quarterback Tyrod Taylor remains "the most glaring deficiency for a team that seems much closer to success than most expected."

Carolina's defense allowed only three points for the second straight week and Graham Gano converted three field goals as the Panthers held on to defeat the Buffalo Bills 9-3 on Sunday.

The Buffalo Bills offense managed just 160 total yards in Sunday's 13-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.  For analyst Matt Sabuda, the play calling and ineffective performance by quarterback Tyrod Taylor were surprisingly similar to the poor efforts that have been so common in recent years for the Bills.
